ComiKaze 2013 - Part 2

ComiKaze!!!

ComiKaze is like how Comic-Con was back in the early 90's. This is good because you will see it, as a fan, grow from what it is now, into a big pop culture expo. Unlike the densely populated cons, there is breathing space for cosplayers and photographers and other attendees checking out the show. I look forward to this show growing! It should be a fun ride!

Figure Fridays!!! - THE BEACH!!! 5/24/13

SUMMER is almost here!!! Being a native Californian, Summer always meant going to the beach and chillin by the ocean and riding some choice waves on a surfboard. Going "Beast Mode", on being otaku, going to the beach also means cosplay photos, of figure/toy photos!

This little beach was right next to the larger Heisler Park, in Laguuna Beach. Being Laguna Beach, most parking spaces were metered... sooo.... we just kept looking for a free spot, which resulted in us finding this place! Not a bad place! Not crowded, also semi secluded, AND FREE PARKING!

Figure Fridays! - 5/17/13 Secret Location!

FIGURE FRIDAYS!!! Bringing you all kinds of Toy Photography for you Friday enjoyment! Yes, I still post Toy Photos during the week, but, Fridays will be a set schedule for these plastic works of art!

While scouting for places for cosplay photography, my brother and I hit up (SECRET LOCATION) and took some photos here!

While taking Toy Photography at different places, one of the things, that I enjoy, is creating a scene with the figures. This gives the toys life and makes them feel alive. No longer are they the static statuesque figure that gets placed on a shelf and forgotten, now, when caught by the camera, a moment is captured and it feels real.

Figure Fridays!!! - 5/10/13 SLENDER FOREST!

HEY HEY!!! We're gonna try something different, from now on! FIGURE FRIDAYS!!! After all, how else did you think how I got the name "OtaKing"? LOL LET'S SET IT OFF!!!

This week's "Figure Fridays" was taken in Slenderman Forest, before nightfall! First off, I'm a designer and an artist and have been drawing since I was a wee lad. Photography is something really new to me and have still yet to find my style. With action figures, I'm noticing that I'm starting to make my photos more like my drawings, especially with the use of my brother's wide angle lens. His lens gives my photos a forced perspective, further bringing the viewer deeper into the action.

WonderCon Anaheim - Day 2 Cosplay Around The Con!

MORE COSPLAY!!!

WonderCon 2013 was held at the Anaheim Convention Center again for the second year in a row! The con took up most of the convention center and ended up being sold out, much like its older brother, the San Diego Comic-Con. I took soooo many photos, that I have to split up the pics for these!
